Clear Your Browser Cookies

HTTP cookies are parcels of text sent by a server to a Web client (usually a browser) and then sent back unchanged by the client each time it accesses that server. Cookies are used for authenticating, session tracking (state maintenance), and maintaining specific information about users, such as site preferences or the contents of their electronic shopping carts.

To clear your cookies, follow the steps that apply to your browser:


Windows Internet Explorer 8 and 9

  1. On the Internet Explorer 8 Tools menu, click Internet Options. The Internet Options box should open to the General tab.
  2. On the General tab, in the Browsing history section, click the Delete button.
  3. In the Delete Browsing History box, select Cookies checkbox
  4. Click the Delete button.
  5. Wait for the computer to completely process this, and once it finished, click OK

Windows Internet Explorer7

  1. On the Internet Explorer7 Tools menu, click Internet Options. The Internet Options box should open to the General tab.
  2. On the General tab, in the Browsing history section, click the Delete button.
  3. In the Delete Browsing History box, click the Delete Cookies button.
  4. Click Yes button in Delete Cookies pop up box.
  5. Click Close button after the cookies are deleted.
  6. Click OK button in Internet Options box.

Mozilla Firefox 4.0

  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Orange Firefox menu.
  2. Select Option and then select Option again.
  3. Select 'Use custom setting for history' from Firefox will dropdown under History section.
  4. Select Show Cookies.
  5. Select Remove All Cookies.


 

Optional: If you want to ONLY remove VIN or VSPN cookies:

  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Orange Firefox menu.
  2. Select Option and then select Option again.
  3. Select 'Use custom setting for history' from Firefox will dropdown under History section.
  4. Select Show Cookies.
  5. Search for VIN or VSPN.
  6. Select all the cookies in Search result box by Ctrl select.
  7. Select Remove Cookies

Google Chrome

  1. Click on the wrench icon wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Tools.
  3. Select Clear browsing data.
  4. In the dialog box that appears, select the checkboxes for Delete cookies and other site and plug-in data.
  5. Use the "Clear data from this period" menu to select the amount of data that you want to delete.
  6. Click Clear browsing data.

Safari for Windows

  1. Click on the gear icon

     
    on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Reset Safari.
  3. In the Reset Safari window, check the box next to Remove all Cookies
  4. Click Reset to clear out the checked items on the list.

     

Safari for Mac

  1. Click on the Safari menu on the top-left of the screen.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Select Security.
  4. Select Show Cookies.
  5. click Remove All.

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Select Safari.
  3. Select Clear Cookies.

For iPad

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Select Safari.
  3. Select Clear Cookies.
  4. Tap Clear for a conformation message
