Evaluation of a rapid IgM detection test for diagnosis of acute leptospirosis in dogs

The LFA is a rapid and reliable test for early detection of Leptospira-specific IgM during acute phase of canine leptospirosis. However, interpretation of a positive result must be made in the context of clinical signs and vaccination history.

Features and prognostic impact of distant metastases in 45 dogs with de novo stage IV cutaneous mast cell tumours: A prospective study
Asymptomatic dogs with tumor diameter <3cm and a low tumor burden, without bone marrow infiltration may be candidates for multimodal treatment. Stage IV dogs without lymph node metastasis may enjoy a surprisingly prolonged survival.

Left paralumbar laparoscopic bilateral ovariectomy in mares
Left paralumbar bilateral ovariectomy was successful in all 12 mares, with a mean surgical time of 76±8 minutes. Postoperative complications occurred in 4/12 (33%) mares and included fever, mild colic, incisional swelling, and azotemia. Complications resolved and mares returned to full activity, with complete owner satisfaction.
