CLINICAL UPDATES: JOURNALS

The Hazards Associated With the Use of Intrauterine Glass Balls to suppress Oestrus in Mares
The inefficiency of suppressing oestrus with glass balls, combined with the potential problems their placement may cause, argue strongly that this practice should be considered unethical.

Feline Injection-Site Sarcoma
The size of the tumor, measured after formalin fixation, with an optimal cutoff of 3.75 cm (accuracy = 86%), and the mitotic count, with an optimal cutoff of 20 mitoses/10 HPF (accuracy = 80%), could be evaluated as useful prognostic markers.

Lipid Therapy for Intoxications
Despite growing scientific evidence that ILE has merit in the treatment of certain poisonings, there is still uncertainty on the optimal composition of the lipid emulsion, the dosing, the mechanism of action, and the efficacy.
