A Fair Employment Contract for Employer and Employee

Lawyers may love contracts, but for many veterinarians, they can seem scary. Whether you're a prospective employee or employer, the Model Employment Contract provides practical contract information with an explanation of legal provisions and fully customizable sections. This is a VIN Foundation initiative.

The contract has been downloaded over 8,000 times and those who have used it say it helped them work through the details without creating feelings of adversity between employer and employee.

To help get you started, VIN attorney Raphael Moore, JD, LLM, presented a rounds that explains the model contract in simple terms. You can read the transcript or listen to the session recording.

Who sets the preventative care protocols (vaccination, testing, deworming) in your practice?

Participate in this latest Quick Poll on the Front Page.

VINners have a huge variety of approaches to treating "Good Samaritan"-presented animals. 27% require the presenter to pay the medical bill while over 30% will take responsibility for medical care themselves.  How does your practice handle these cases?
Visit last week's Quick Poll in the Archives to take the poll yourself and to see the full results.
