When and Why Did You Become a VINner?

Did you join in 2000-2002? Congratulations! You survived the Y2K kerfuffle and headed into the final year of the 20th century as part of a virtual community of colleagues.

VINners were congregating at the first VIN Cyber Cafe, uploading images to their message board posts (finally!), and sending curious clients to Veterinary Partner for trustworthy, ad-free pet information.

When and why did you become a VINner? Find the discussion for your year in the list on the right side of this page and share what VIN means to you.  You can show as well as tell! Share a photo, video, or even a song clip.

Can't remember when you joined? Email 30years@vin.com and we'll help you figure it out.

Whatever year you joined, share your thoughts about VIN -- Your VIN Journey -- on this special Message Board and through the VIN 30th Anniversary Center.

Rad or Ridiculous -- How Are Your Radiology Skills?

Looking to increase your level of comfort with diagnostic imaging or just freshen up your skills?
Turn to the new VIN Radiology Atlas (VRA)!

Developed by VIN veterinarians with help from veterinary students, the VRA includes imaging cases with a discussion of the findings and interpretation tips. You'll find it in the VIN Library and the Diagnostic Imaging Specialty Center

Take a peek at the most recent chapter, Radiographic Evaluation of Joints and share your thoughts.

The VRA is an ongoing project that will be released in stages and it needs your input! What's your biggest radiology challenge?

Does your practice hospitalize patients (not healthy animal boarding) overnight unattended?

What do you do with that patient that needs another night away from the kids or some extra fluids overnight? Local ER, send home, hospitalize unattended, grab a pillow and crawl in the cage? This week's Front Page Quick Poll gives you the chance to share your overnight hospitalization policies.

Does the Great Resignation apply to veterinarians? Last week's Quick Poll explored the question of pandemic-induced retirement among veterinarians. While over 65% of VINners responding said they don't know anyone who has retired due to COVID, the Quick Poll team found the lowest-chosen response interesting. 11.83% of 2045 VINners said they know one or more veterinarians who have retired specifically due to COVID. While 12% doesn't sound like much, in this case it was interesting to do the math and realize over 240 colleagues know someone who has retired as a result of the pandemic.

Want more fun with percentages? Visit the Quick Poll Archives to take and view the full results of this and other polls.
