The only help for this ferret, if it does have adrenal gland disease, is medication (or surgery) directed specifically at attacking adrenal gland disease.

Should Bethanechol and/or Prazosin Be Used After Perineal Urethrostomy/Cystotomy in Cats?
I think the basis for Plumb's questioning of the appropriateness of prazosin is chiefly based on a letter to the editor from Dr. Lulich raising questions about it.
