Before worrying about our professional honorifics or lack thereof, many of us had to first jump the hurdle known as the NAVLE (or the earlier equivalents). Last week's Quick Poll examined the usefulness of the NAVLE as a predictor of professional competence. The majority of VINners who responded seem to see the NAVLE as a necessary evil -- a necessary screening test, but not necessarily a predictor of future competence. 10% would like a complete overhaul, while 21% don't think it is much of an indicator of competence. Only 3% see it as a good indicator of veterinary knowledge. Where do you test out?
