VIN CE Course: Open to veterinarians and veterinary technicians/technologists. This course has been submitted for RACE approval for veterinarians and veterinary technicians/technologists.

Course Information:
We will cover the basic dental anatomy for rabbits, guinea pigs, rodents, mice, rats, hamsters, and prairie dogs, as well as husbandry issues (such as diet) which may influence dental health. We will then discuss the common presentations seen with each species, methods of diagnosing dental disease, and the appropriate treatment for these conditions. Some time will be spent going over the proper equipment needed in the exotic dental suite, and post-procedural management options and care. About the Presenter:
Sandra Mitchell is board certified in both exotic companion mammal practice and feline practice. As a general practitioner as well as referral practitioner she sees and treats all stages of dental disease in her patients.

Loic Legendre started as a companion animal general practitioner, "fell" into dentistry and never looked back. He worked for 5 years in a large referral hospital with 23 other specialists and thereby received exposure to many "unusual" cases. Currently, Dr. Legendre is a shareholder and practitioner in a veterinary dental referral center where he works above the neck in a variety of species - mostly dogs, cats, rabbits, and rodents. Dr. Legendre has published several articles and spends many weekends each year lecturing in Canada, the USA, Europe, and other, more exotic, locations.
