This course will cover diagnosis and treatment of canine IMHA, emphasizing practical strategies to be employed in the private practice setting. Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, the participant should be able to
- identify the tests needed to diagnose IMHA in dogs.
- interpret the results of the tests used to diagnose IMHA in dogs.
- get to a final diagnosis of IMHA in dog.
- describe an overview of the goals of medical management of canine IMHA.
- describe therapies for use in the acute setting for treatment of IMHA, including blood products, immunosuppressive therapy, and anti-thrombotic therapy.
- describe the long-term management of canine IMHA, including strategies to taper immunosuppressive therapy.
