This lecture will cover the most common ophthalmic emergencies. I will describe the best way to approach and fix these emergencies. I will show an easier technique to replace proposed globes and tackle that pesky figure of eight suture for eyelid lacerations. The options for corneal perforations and bad ulcers. I will also cover how to figure out where that lens has misplaced itself - the front or the back. Lastly, I will cover sudden blindness and orbital disease. We will cover the eye from front to back. Erica Tolar received her DVM from University of Illinois in 2003. She did a small animal rotating internship at the University of Tennessee and a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Illinois. She received your diplomate of American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO) Ophthalmology in 2007. She is currently working at a Private referral practice and a private equine ophthalmology practice in Louisville, KY. She is also an ophthalmology consultant on VIN. Total CE Credit: 1.5
