This course is an in-depth look at the safety and usage of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, including evidence-based medicine reviews and meta-analysis on the effectiveness of adjunctive HBOT in the treatment of a variety of disease processes including exceptional anemia and wound healing. Numerous case examples with a variety of indications will be included in the presentation. Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, the participant should be able to
- understand the physiologic actions of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
- determine which small animal patients may benefit from adjunctive hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
- appreciate the technique and equipment involved in providing hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
