Level and Prerequisites: This intermediate course will be open to veterinarians actively interested in canine liver enzymes. Participants in this course should be well versed in basic canine anatomy and physiology.
VIN CE Course: Open to veterinarians. This course is approved by RACE for veterinarians. (RACE 22-34346)

Course Information:
Elevations in liver enzymes are commonly encountered in general practice. The diagnostic approach can be complex because of the many diseases that can cause these laboratory abnormalities. The proper diagnosis is crucial in determining the prognosis and optimum treatment plan. This 1.5-hour lecture will discuss the differential diagnoses for elevated liver enzymes in dogs, which tests are most useful for diagnosis, when to do which tests, and how to formulate a treatment plan.

About the Presenter:
Adam Honeckman is a board-certified internist. He owns a mobile internal medicine practice in Orlando, FL and has been a VIN consultant since 2008. His special interests include ultrasound, cytology, endoscopy, gastroenterology, cardiology, and immune mediated disease.

Total CE Credit: 1.5

  1. Enrollment qualifications: VIN CE courses are open to VIN member and non-member veterinarians. Veterinarians enrolling in a VSPN CE course must be a VIN member. Veterinary support staff must be a VSPN member to enroll in a VSPN CE or a VIN CE course open to VSPN member enrollment.
