Course Information:
We all know that pancreatitis remains a common yet challenging disease both in terms of diagnosis and management. This course will aim to improve confidence in both aspects leading to less stress and better outcomes.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, the participant should be able to
  • understand the various diagnostic tests available for pancreatitis including diagnostic imaging and blood markers.
  • plan the most appropriate treatment modalities for acute pancreatitis based on clinical severity including analgesia, supportive care and drug therapy.
  • appreciate the role of nutrition in acute and chronic disease including use of feeding tubes.
  • plan longer-term management in cases of chronic pancreatitis and understand the potential longer-term complications.

Level and Prerequisites: This intermediate VIN CE course is open for enrollment to veterinarians actively interested in pancreatitis.
Accreditation: This course is approved for 1.5 hours of continuing education credit by RACE for veterinarians. (RACE 20-896581)
