This is a research study funded by the Morris Animal Foundation to evaluate the use of prophylactic azithromycin (Zithromax - Pfizer) in neonatal foals to prevent the pneumonia/abscesses associated with Rhodococcus equi. We need Veterinarians and Breeding farms that meet our requirements. Supplies and antibiotics are free and we will give $30/foal to aid in the additional effort required to collect samples.
