Rebecca began working with dogs with her mother’s American Cocker Spaniels in conformation, and then junior handling for obedience. With gratitude to the many veterinary behavior professionals, Rebecca learned kinder and more effective science-based training methods and the behavior theory behind them. She started as a kennel attendant in the early 1980s and worked as an assistant and a practice manager, as well as doing puppy and clicker classes and private sessions with clients. She is passionate about consent work, leash skills for reactivity, and raising happy, joyful dogs. Currently, Rebecca works at The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center Behavioral Medicine Clinic, with their board-certified veterinary behaviorist and talented clinicians and technician.
